Supercritical CO2 Extraction of Oil from Dried Avocado (Persea Americana Mill.) Fruit Pulp: Oil Yield, Solubility, and the Oil Characteristics

The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability supercritical fluid technology for extraction avocado oil. dried fruit pulp (Persea americana Mill.) extracted by using a semi-pilot system. Effect several process parameters, such as CO2 flow rate, particle size, pressure and temperature on total oil yield, free fatty acid, peroxide value, phenolic flavonoid content in were assessed. Avocado within range rate 10 15L/h, size 2.0 3.0 mm, 34, 42 50 oC 15, 20, 25 30 MPa. Kinetic curves clearly exhibited three periods (constant falling diffusion-controlled). Increasing pressure, or reducing brought an increase yield rate. Overall, after 150 min extraction, almost completely extracted. method (58.97%) obtained at MPa higher than that Soxhlet (55.83%). An (at constant temperature) acid values but decrease content. On other hand, effect those parameters opposite. better quality method.
